Corporate Gifts
What makes great corporate gifts is the attention to detail that goes into their selection and delivery. By this we mean applying solid promotional marketing campaign techniques to ensure the corporate gifts you give to your clients are well received. Where do we start when selecting gifts for corporate clients ? Well we like to consider three basic elements:
- Season, marketing event and timing
- Corporate client profile
- Budget availability and quantities required
Now it may come as a surprise but chocolate melts – in fact great chocolate is made to melt at just one degree centigrade below body temperature. Why is this relevant ? Well consider summer marketing campaigns and exhibitions - probably the last thing you want to give your clients is something that will melt. So think through your promotional events, look at the weather and other seasonable aspects to help you identify the most suitable promotional items. Timing becomes a crucial element in the equation when we look at whether the promotional items are going to be off-the-shelf or custom made. Most stock items are available within five to ten working days for corporate promotional campaigns but bespoke items can take twenty or more days to manufacture. If coming in volume from off-shore by boat you can look at a shipping time of around four to six weeks or more.
Off course the corporate client profile is another valuable input. Here we are considering the target market and segmenting it into a list of potential niches, each with their own identifiable needs. Why is this important ? Well look at a promotion involving football or cricket ? Will it appeal to both genders within the target audience ? Another aspect to consider is lifestyle and income ? Would a non-golfer appreciate some branded golf balls and how will the receiver value the gifts being given ?
Budget is off course another facet to consider in the promotional equation but with equal measure to the quantities required. It is a fine balancing act sometimes to choose the right promotional products based on price for the quantity required.
