Dye-Sublimation Printing
All Redbows mugs are printed using the dye-sublimation process which produces exceptionally bright, vivid colours. The image is first printed using special inks onto a carrier paper which is then wrapped around the outside of the mug. Under heat and pressure, the inks vapourise and permanently dye the ceramic surface with your design.
Whilst this process gives exceptionally bright, vivid results unobtainable by any other means; it is quite different from conventional printing and does have its limitations. Please do ensure that you have our artwork guidelines and these are followed by your designer. Please contact us for design templates or download from www.artworkguidelines.com
Unique 360 Degree Print
The WoW Mug, Durham or Avon Photo Mug can all be printed right the way around the outside of the mug, including under the handle. This is called a "full-wrap" print. Alternatively, a 10mm gap can be left either side of the handle, a "partial-wrap".
Bone China Photo Mugs - Windsor and \ styles - are always printed as a "partial-wrap" due the shape of the handles. They will therefore have a white space either side of and underneath the handle.
Dishwasher and Microwave safe
The sublimation process only works on products that have been pre-coated. Our Photo Mug is coated with the best sublimation coating the the world - Thermoglaze. It is this unique coating, applied under licence which ensures that our Photo Mugs are dishwasher proof and microwave safe.
Proofs
When we receive your artwork we will produce a proof for your approval. This will be printed on a mug using the printing press used for the main production run. This is the only way to ensure that the proof is truly representative of the finished product.
Screen overprint
In addition to the full colour dye-sublimation print, the WoW Mug can be screen overprinted in one or more spot colours to create a permanent message or logo, visible when the mug is both hot or cold.
As mugs vary slightly in size and handle position, it is not possible to closely register the position of the spot colour overprint to the print under the heat sensitive coating. Further information is available at www.artworkguidelines.com , but screen printed spot colours should be kept 30mm away from the handle and 10mm from the top and bottom of the mug.
Unless requested otherwise, all mugs are individually packed into clear polythene bags and then bulk packed in 36's in strong, double walled cartons.
Alternatively, mugs can be individually packed into postal cartons made from environmentally friendly card ( Durham style only); or clear acetate cartons with or without a custom printed backing card ( Durham style only). Please ask for details of minimum quantity levels and additional costs.
