FAQs - Clothing

Information on promotional clothing and corporate workwear including screen printing and embroidery, washing and after care and clothing brands.

Screen printed or embroidered workwear?

Clothing is not the most ideal surface to apply an imprint onto unless it is embroidered. This is because it is not smooth surface and the only application that is really suitable for a screen or transfer print is a think t-shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie onto which is applied a fairly thick imprint. We always recommend embroidery where possible and machine technology today means that unit embroidered prices can be very low.

How is embroidery priced?

Any imprint is normally priced on two aspects: the size of the imprint area and the colours. The same applies with embroidery but for this type of imprint application the number of stitches per imprint area area also becomes important. The number of colours is also important as it relates to the number of coloured cottons to be used.

Washing corporate workwear

Corporate clothing has to last and will be subject to hard usage, especially if worn daily. Always pay attention to the clothing label cleaning instructions. These will provide the most suitable method for washing the clothing item and also to ensure there is no logo/imprint deterioration or shrinkage. One of the worst things to see is a nicely embroidered shirt that has been subjected to too high a temperature wash leading to crimping around the logo edges.
