Biomaster - Protection Against the Dangers You Can’t See
Redbows is delighted to announce the newest additions to the Health Products collection. These products contain ‘antimicrobial’ protection (manufactured by Addmaster) and can be found on the Covid-19 product page. Biomaster® technology pro-actively prevents/disrupts the growth of bacteria on treated surfaces and inhibits the growth of most types of harmful bacteria.
The first product to include the additive includes the Americano® Pure. Redbows is now offering the bestselling Americano mug with Biomaster® technology, providing a second line of defence against harmful bacteria, ideal for an item designed for re-use. New versions of the popular Face Mask Straps and Hygiene Keys are also available, plus the new Hygiene Handle.
As this is a great feature, more products containing Biomaster® technology will be announced over the next few months. The active antibacterial technology is built into the product during the manufacturing process and remains effective for the lifetime of the product. It binds to the cell wall and disrupts the growth of harmful micro organisms such as bacteria and mould. The addition of Biomaster® does not affect the products:

Our solution: the Biomaster protected coffee cup
Introducing the Americano® Pure treated with active antibacterial agent independently tested to ISO 22196. The additive is built into the cup during the manufacturing process and lasts for the lifetime of the product. Biomaster® is completely safe to use in food and water applications. An independent test was run by Aston University and found that cups treated with Biomaster technology showed an effective reduction in the level of bacteria on the inside of the cup and the external and internal lid.

Double-wall insulated tumbler with twist-on lid. Features a full colour wraparound design moulded to the product. The lid and inner contain Biomaster antimicrobial technology which provides protection against the growth of harmful micro-organisms on the surface of your mug. This is effective for the lifetime of the product, and doesn’t affect the recyclability. Dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Volume capacity is 350 ml. Made in the UK. Packed in a home-compostable bag. 99% PP Plastic and 1% Antibacterial additive.
Face Mask Straps
Strap that allows face masks to be worn comfortably for prolonged periods. The strap has small hooks for holding a mask’s elastic taut, relieving any pain or discomfort from the elastic being in direct contact with the wearer’s ears. This product contains Biomaster® antimicrobial technology that provides protection against the growth of harmful micro-organisms for the lifetime of the product. 99% PP Plastic medical grade and 1% Antibacterial additive.

Is Biomaster® safe?
Biomaster® is used in medical, food and water applications and is based on silver ion technology.
What’s the difference between antimicrobial and antibacterial?
An antimicrobial inhibits the growth of, or destroys harmful micro-organisms such as bacteria, fungi and moulds. An antibacterial specifically prevents the growth of bacteria.
Has Biomaster® been tested?
Yes, repeatedl. Biomaster® is tested to ISO standards. We also undertake on-going quality control tests and environmental trials.
How long is Biomaster® effective for?
Biomaster® is effective for the intended lifetime of the product it’s added to. It is built-in and doesn’t wear off or leach out.
Does Biomaster® affect a product in any way?
No. You can’t see, smell or even taste Biomaster.
Can a Biomaster®-treated polymer be recycled?
Yes, it can be recycled effectively without any complications.
Is Biomaster® effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria?
Yes. Biomaster® has been proven to be affective to antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE).
Is Biomaster a substitute for regular cleaning?
No. Biomaster® protects product surfaces in between cleans.
Does Biomaster® use nano-silver technology?
No. We don’t use nano technology due to ongoing safety concerns.
